Sensory Support Room Organizer: 

The Sensory Support Room Organizer Volunteer plays a crucial role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for individuals with sensory sensitivities, ensuring that they can fully participate in and enjoy the event experience. The roles and responsibilties include:

  • Material Preparation
    • Design Sensory Activities
    • Source and gather sensory equipment, materials, and resources for the sensory support room, including items such as sensory toys, fidgets, noise-canceling headphones, and calming sensory tools (In-Kind Donation / Support) .
    • Organize and arrange sensory items in the sensory support room in an inviting and accessible manner.
  • Participant Assistance:

    • Welcome attendees to the sensory support room and provide a brief orientation on the available sensory resources and activities.
    • Offer assistance and guidance to individuals and families seeking sensory support
    • Respect the privacy and autonomy of participants while offering support and assistance as needed.
    • Maintain a safe and inclusive environment in the sensory support room, ensuring that all participants feel comfortable and respected.

 

About the Event: 

Our Celebrating Neurodiversity Luncheon acknowledges the beauty in neurodiversity and provides an understanding of Autism through a lens of neurodiversity, a space to feature neurodivergent talent and art and an opportunity to form meaningful connections with our neurodivergent participants.

About Kind Theory:
