Who We Are

Kind Theory started as a simple idea: making this world a kind place for neurodivergent people. It has now transformed into a non-profit organization where a team of diligent and kind volunteers is working and striving hard to achieve our mission.

Kind Theory is founded on principles of the human rights and social model of disability. We believe in disabled person’s rights as human beings. We believe that disability rights are human rights. We, at Kind Theory, are committed to following the principle of diversity that provides the foundation to accept any disability as a human variation.

We are working day and night to identify:

  •  Negative attitudes towards neurodivergent individuals
  • System barriers for the neurodivergent individuals
  • Exclusion of the neurodivergent individuals by society (inadvertently or purposely)

Doing so will help us devise a plan to eliminate these attitudes and barriers and make our systems as well as environments more inclusive and kinder for the neurodivergent people. Kind Theory strongly believes in inclusion and discourages discrimination. Our Kind Commitment ensures that we look at a person with a perspective of what they need and how we can help, include, support, and facilitate them.

From the beginning, we’ve been a diverse group of parents, professionals, community members, and friends by the knowledge that neurodivergent people deserve better.

Whether through our own lived experiences with autism and ADHD or through witnessing the struggles of our children, students, and clients, each member of our team knows all too well about how deficit-focused resources lead to the stigmatization and exclusion of these important members of our communities.

It’s time for a paradigm shift. Welcome to neurodiversity!

We knew our communities needed resources about autism and ADHD that could foster connection, inclusion, and empowerment for all neurotypes, so we set out to create them. Today, we’re a volunteer-run non-profit clearing the way for kindness. Guided by the insight of autistic people and ADHDers themselves, we provide schools, organizations, and the general public with friendly, accessible training and resources about autism, ADHD, neurodiversity, and disability justice.

Through education, we know we can make our community a kinder, more welcoming place for all.

What We Do

Here at Kind Theory, our goal is to build a kinder world for neurodivergent people: one where systems, communities, and individuals promote their strengths, support them through their struggles, and welcome their differences.

Working out of the Texas area, we provide local schools, employers, service providers, law enforcement, and other organizations with meaningful education about neurodiversity, disability justice, and the best practices for understanding and supporting autistic people and those with ADHD. The best part? All of our projects—from speaking engagements to educational videos—are shaped and led by neurodivergent people themselves.

In a nutshell, Kind Theory

  • Provides education & resources to develop a neurodiversity affirming understanding of Autism and ADHD
  • Dismantles the barriers faced by neurodivergent individuals.
  • Educates the general public on neurodivergent rights, issues, and needs.
  • Creates a kinder world where neurodivergent people feel free to be exactly who they are.
