A group facilitator leads our support groups and helps families through their grief journeys. They are caring, compassionate, dedicated, and loving individuals who are determined to make a difference in the lives of grieving families.
Responsibilities:
- encourage conversations
- lead crafts and other grief activities
- create a safe place for participants to talk about and remember their loved ones
Commitment:
We ask that facilitators commit to volunteering for one year or one school year (August-May), which includes 2 groups per month from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm. You will be assigned a particular group to facilitate each time based on your strengths/interests and our group's needs.
We have found that having a regular facilitator who is committed to their
group fosters a greater sense of trust and belonging.
Requirements:
- You must be at least 18 years
or older and have a High School Diploma or GED. - You need to complete an
online registration form for review by our staff. - You are required to pass a criminal background check.
- You must complete the Facilitator Training ($50 fee)
- You will begin observing groups with an experienced group facilitator.
- You will be ready to start facilitating groups.
