Like to volunteer in the morning? Come be part of the intake team.
Monday - Friday our transportation team delivers food from area grocery stores to our facility. Our INTAKE TEAM then counts, weighs, sorts and stocks this food so we can report back to North Texas Food Bank what we have received. So what do we do with the food? The INTAKE TEAM decide what to keep for our meal preparation for our guests, and what is to go to our partner food pantries. We have sent out 115 tons of food to pantries in the county.
You can volunteer one day a week, or one day a month, or as many days as you would like to serve. Once you sign up you will receive an invitation schedule from which you can select your days to serve. Questions? Email cindysolomon@communitygardenkitchen.org
There is some heavy lifting involved.
The shifts last about 2 hours.
We especially need volunteers on Monday.
