In Mckinney an estimated 250-500 persons are experiencing homelessness. In Collin County:

  • 19% are under 18 yrs old

  • 14% are over 55 yrs old

  • Youth Homelessness increased 18%

  • Family Homelessness increased 15%

     

According to the McKinney-Vento Act, living in a car, hotel, motel, camping ground, or any place outside or not meant for human habitation is considered homelessness. *Collin County stats from Housing Forward’s 2023 Point in Time (PIT) Count
