Presenters:

Rick Travis
Rick holds a bachelor’s degree in Forest Management and an MBA from Stephen F. Austin State University and is an active member of the Blackland Prairie Master Naturalist Chapter, where he served as Chapter President from 2022 to 2025. He also serves on Frisco’s Natural Resources Advisory Board, volunteers as a trail guide with multiple local parks and the Heard Wildlife Sanctuary, and teaches Forest Ecology for Master Naturalist training programs across the DFW area.

Lisa Travis
Lisa is a retired elementary school teacher and a member of the Blackland Prairie Texas Master Naturalist Class of 2018 who has served on the Chapter’s Training and Education Committee since 2019, including as Training Director from 2021 to 2024. She designed the Trees of North Texas identification brochure, teaches tree ID and iNaturalist programs across the DFW area, and is an active contributor to the iNaturalist citizen science platform.
