Who We Are

The Office of Environmental Sustainability is dedicated to fostering a greener community. We develop and implement initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impacts, promoting energy efficiency, and encouraging sustainable practices among residents and organizations. Through education, outreach, and collaborative partnerships, we strive to enhance the quality of life in McKinney by ensuring a clean and healthy environment for current and future generations.

What We Do

The Office of Environmental Sustainability is dedicated to promoting and implementing eco-friendly practices that enhance the health of the environment and the community. This involves educating the public on waste reduction and recycling, water conservation, and sustainable gardening. We partner with local organizations, host public events, and work on initiatives that aim to improve soil health, conserve natural resources, and reduce pollution.

Volunteers play a crucial role in the Office’s mission. By participating, you can contribute to tangible improvements in McKinney's environment, help preserve natural resources, and gain hands-on knowledge of sustainable practices. Additionally, your involvement fosters a stronger sense of community and personal responsibility, offering everyone the chance to directly impact the local ecosystem and public health.
