Description

Join us to celebrate Make a Difference Day!

Date: Saturday, October 25th, 2025
Time: 9 am - Noon
Location: Green Gardens of McKinney, 3339 Alma Rd, McKinney, TX 75070

We’ll be planting 400 native plants to help create a vibrant, resilient space that supports pollinators, wildlife, and our local ecosystem.

This community event is hosted by Blackland Prairie Master Naturalists, Keep McKinney Beautiful, Youth Creating Change, One Earth One Chance, and Texas Conservation Alliance. Whether you're an experienced gardener or new to planting, all are welcome to roll up their sleeves and make a lasting impact!

McKinney Green Gardens is located in Gabe Nesbitt Park, between the water tower and Hillsdale Drive. Volunteers will help remove weeds and plant native species while learning about drought-tolerant gardening, water conservation, watershed protection, and the value of prairie habitat for insects, birds, and other wildlife.

What to bring:

  • Water to stay hydrated
  • Sunscreen and bug spray

Register: Click to register for the workday.

Tools will be provided. Come help us grow a healthier, more resilient North Texas!

Parking: Directly across from the garden and water tower. Volunteers are not permitted to park next to the water tower or block access to the water tower.

Bathrooms: The nearest restrooms are within walking distance, located at The Courts McKinney Pickleball and Tennis Center, 3253 Alma Rd, McKinney, TX 75070

There are other opportunities to volunteer. Please check out Litter Clean Up projects
