McKinney ISD Partners in Education REACH Mentoring Program
Opportunities to mentor are available at McKinney ISD campuses. We have students, district-wide, on a waiting list for a mentor.
All McKinney ISD volunteers are required to complete the online McKinney ISD volunteer application. When filling out the volunteer application please make sure to select “REACH” for your volunteer position. This process includes a background check. Once approved, a one-hour mentor orientation training is required. Approved volunteers, please contact the McKinney ISD Partners in Education office by emailing cstolfa@mckinneyisd.net to schedule the orientation.
REACH is a school-based program; therefore, all mentoring takes place at the student’s campus, once a week, during a time that has been set up by the Campus Liaison and the mentor.
Started in 2006, the REACH program is designed to foster a basic sense of self-esteem, self-confidence, and motivation to learn and improve personal and social skills that will reinforce the importance of an education. The primary mission of the program is to reach one child at a time.
