This volunteer position is an excellent opportunity to grow your portfolio, gain experience in social media, and learn the ins and outs of the nonprofit world. Guidance for this position will be given by our founder and Executive Director as well as the Volunteer Coordinator and/or the Social Media Team. This experience will help you understand how to manage profiles and collaborate to make engaging content for our audience. The Social Media Content Creator will be responsible for creating, scheduling, and managing posts on one (1) or more social media platforms, based on the candidate’s skillset and available time commitment per week. Candidates will join one (1), one-hour meeting per week, then work on their own for the remaining time. Hours will be set per week, based on the candidate’s availability (e.g. if the candidate is available Monday nights from 6p-10p, they can choose to work only at that time. Or the candidate could choose to work 1 hour on four set days per week.)

The Social Media Content Creator is responsible for engaging our audience while building the donor base, generating awareness, maintaining our brand, and raising funds. The Social Media Content Creator will have strong knowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape, including strong knowledge in at least one (1) social media platform with a preferred experience in multiple platforms where our organization already has a presence including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, TikTok, and LinkedIn. The goal of the Social Media Content Creator will be to meet key performance indicators (KPI's). KPI’s include:
- increased monthly recurring donors,
- increased social media engagement,
- increased online store sales,
- increased online donations,
- increase in partner program participation
What You Will Do
- Assist with Breast Cancer Can Stick It! social media content and postings as defined by Executive Director
- Attend weekly one (1) hour meetings
- Schedule Facebook and Instagram posts through Facebook Business Suite
- Maintain post schedule in Google Calendar
- Story writing to capture the mission and impact of Breast Cancer Can Stick It!
What You Need
- Excellent writing skills.
- Creative thinker with the ability to share ideas and think outside of the box.
- Computer expertise with strong written and verbal skills.
- Working knowledge of Facebook Business Suite (for Facebook social media management only).
- Technology and equipment are suitable for working remotely. (computer, smartphone, and Zoom)
- Ability to work a minimum of four (4) hours per week.
- Must be an excellent communicator, willing to communicate via email, phone, text, Skype, and Zoom.
- Good analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Basic image editing of promotion assets for social media and online purposes.
- An avid interest in music, knowledge about artists and genres, and an overall interest in the music industry.
- Detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple tasks.
- Graphic design and video editing experience are a plus.
- High School Diploma required.
- Working towards a college degree or recent college graduate preferred.
- Passion for the fight against breast cancer is preferred.
