Volunteer Details
When you arrive on site, please ask for our on-site manager and they will direct you further. There are two roles for volunteers to pick from: Shower Valet or Barber/Hairstylist. The details for each of these are below.
1) Shower Valet
You will be greeting our guests, cleaning the showers, and distributing hygiene kits.
Greet and welcome our guests warmly. Always ask their name, and introduce yourself with a smile. Take time to connect with each and every guest; your authentic and compassionate attention represents the unexpected level of care that helps restore their dignity.
Help tidy up. During your shift, you’ll be keeping our showers cleaned and stocked with hygiene kits and towels for our guests. We will provide you with gloves during the sanitation process, as we work hard to ensure hygiene and safety for all.
The minimum age for a Shower Valet is 14
2) Barber/Hairstylist
You will be providing haircuts to the homeless individuals who come to Streetside Showers stops. You will be working with both men and women of all ages. We do request that anyone who signs up in this role is a licensed barber/hairstylist. Each volunteer barber/hairstylist will need to supply their own equipment and tools for providing haircuts. Thank you!
