CASA of Collin County located in McKinney, TX, promotes and protects the best interests of children who have been abused and neglected by training volunteer advocates to improve the child’s quality of life and lift their voice within the court system to ensure they are placed in a safe, permanent, and loving home.
The CASA of Collin County Development Coordinator VISTA will help the agency will increase capacity through the following activities:
• Develop and write grant proposals;
• Translate program needs into education materials to assist in improving fundraising efforts;
• Increase visibility and grow relationships within the community through outreach and engagement;
• Recruit volunteers and diversify the volunteer base to best represent the children served;
• Develop a resource database of community services.

AmeriCorps VISTA Terms, Conditions and Benefits
- One year of full-time service (40 hours/week) beginning August 30, 2021 and ending on August 29, 2022.
- Pass a background check.
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident.
- Receive a living stipend/allowance or $562 every 2 weeks before taxes.
- Choose between Segal Education Award ($6,345)or an end of service cash stipend ($1,800).
- Relocation allowance and settling-in allowance if moving more than 50 milesfor VISTA service.
- Access to the AmeriCorps VISTA Healthcare Program.
- A childcare allowance, if eligible.
- Paid vacation and sick leave.
- Student loan deferment/forbearance on qualified federal student loans with accrued interest paid.
