JOB PURPOSE
Volunteer will use menus and resources given by Cumberland to create a meal for cottage residents. This is a potential opportunity for residents to help cook and for volunteers to teach them how to cook. This involves being a positive influence around residents, and general know-how in the kitchen.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Visit cottage (once a week is preferred but no less than twice a month is required) to help prepare/cook the meal for the cottage in the evening using ingredients, recipes, and menu based on state’s minimum standards
• Volunteer may choose to offer a different meal on occasion by requesting the change through the Volunteer Coordinator or Food Services Coordinator.
• May stay and enjoy meal with resident, not required to clean afterwards.
• Sometimes involve residents with preparation, per staff discretion
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must consent, complete, and pass all background checks required by TDFPS including: department of public safety, FBI fingerprinting, and DFPS central registry.
Must complete volunteer orientation.
Must have a Tuberculosis test completed with a negative screening.
MUST HAVE FOOD HANDLERS Lic. (Maybe obtained online at the City of Denton for $10/1 hour course)
