Chisholm Trail RSVP, Inc. is a VISTA Intermediary agency working with non-profit agencies, such as Christian Community Action (CCA) in Lewisville to alleviate poverty in North Texas. CCA provides families and individuals throughout Denton County Texas with services and programs that offer a hand-up not a hand-out. CCA does this through their Adult Health Center, Food Pantry and Family Assistance Services. The Grant Writing VISTA will break the cycle of poverty by increasing revenues used to support CCA’s programs that assist low-income clients to transition out of crisis and become self-sufficient. Member Duties: The Grant Writing VISTA at Christian Community Action (CCA) will develop a full understanding of CCA’s mission and programs to determine the agency’s needs for effective grant writing strategies and become familiar with grant research tools utilized by CCA to research and identify new government, corporate, foundation and private funding prospects. The Grant Writing VISTA will develop, write and submit a minimum of 6 grant proposals for a potential outcome of $250,000 to foundations and other grant-making organizations that persuasively communicate CCA’s mission and programs to potential funders.

Program Requirements: Must be able to commit to 1 year of full-time service, be at least 18 years of age and a US. Citizen.
