The Samaritan Inn operates a grocery-store-style food pantry that serves hundreds of local families every week. Our volunteers are an important part of helping our neighbors get the food they need. As a pantry volunteer, you’ll make each neighbor’s visit a great one by:
- Greeting our neighbors as they enter, shop, and check out of the Pantry
- Ensuring that all shoppers have their membership cards.
- Answering questions from them as they shop
- Informing them of any limits to the number of specific items they may take
- Notifying Pantry Staff if items in your area need to be restocked
- Assisting with the check out process by scanning membership cards and recording the weight of groceries
You'll need to feel comfortable interacting with our visitors and standing for the duration of your shift. Spanish is a plus but definitely not required. Thank you for helping us feed our community!
Please note:
- Volunteers must be age 14+ and must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. We do not have volunteer opportunities for children under the age of 14.
- Please dress comfortably and wear closed toed shoes.
