Join us as a Check-In Volunteer at our Tax Assistance Site! You’ll be the first point of contact, welcoming clients and helping them get started on their tax prep journey. Your role ensures a smooth, stress-free process by managing check-ins, organizing paperwork, and keeping the flow running like clockwork.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Welcome clients warmly and answer any initial questions they may have.
- Assist clients in signing in, verifying their appointment details, and ensuring the client has the correct paperwork for their tax return
- Organize and maintain the check-in area to ensure a steady and efficient flow of clients.
- Communicate effectively with tax preparers and other team members to coordinate client transitions.
- Respect and uphold the confidentiality of all client information.
What Makes a Successful Volunteer:
- Friendly demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow check-in protocols.
- Basic computer skills or willingness to learn the check-in system.
- Patience and empathy, especially in high-pressure situations.
- Complete IRS Code of Ethics Certification
Age Requirements: 18 and up.
Commitment to volunteer for a minimum of one shift per week (2-3 hour shifts available, evening times included)
