Residents are invited to help pick up litter in designated spots along roadways and creeks within the city. Civic groups, schools, businesses, homeowner associations, faith-based organizations and individuals are encouraged to take part in this community event. Students can earn community service hours, and Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts can earn patches.
Agenda
- Check in: 8-9 a.m. at Bonnie Wenk Park near amphitheater. Look for the green and white tent.
- Litter Pick Up: 9-11:30 a.m. This will be at various locations throughout McKinney.
- Lunch and Awards: 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Bonnie Wenk Park amphitheater.
Designated spots are located in all areas of the city. If your group has participated previously and would like to volunteer cleaning the same spot, please indicate that on registration comments, we will do our best to accommodate all groups.
The Environmental Education department hosts the annual Texas Trash-Off event as part of the Don't Mess with Texas Trash-Off, the largest single-day cleanup event in the state. '
