Description

Roll for Volunteering

We're looking for experienced Game Masters (GMs) to support Davis Library's Adventure Gaming Club for grades 6-12. During this program, GMs will lead groups of attendees through a one-shot, Dungeons & Dragons adventure. Whether there's dragon slaying, befriending orcs or casting fireballs, GMs will inspire their group to solve problems, stretch their imaginations, and socialize.

These young players are likely to be somewhat new to RPGs. The ideal GM will be patient, interested in volunteering multiple times, and committed to inspiring future generations to keep rolling! Applicants must have experience being a GM and preferably some general experience interacting with youth ages 11-17.

What Volunteers Do

  • GM based on a one-shot provided by Library staff
  • Lead a D&D experience that is age suitable
  • Support players by answering mechanics questions, encouraging problem solving and facilitating participation among all party members

Volunteer Requirements

  • Must be 18+
  • Must have previous experience as a GM
  • Available some Wednesdays in June & July from 1:30 - 4:30 pm
  • Willing to complete a FREE volunteer background check
  • Prior experience working around tweens & teens is preferred, but not required
  • This opportunity does NOT accept court-ordered or one-time volunteers
