Who We Are

Volunteers in Plano VIP

VIP is the central office for volunteer opportunities with the City of Plano. We connect individuals wanting to serve with departments seeking volunteers.

Opportunities are available in departments such as the Animal Shelter, Libraries, Parks and Recreation, Environmental Services, Fire, Police and more. Age requirements and onboarding varies based on the program. To learn more about our programs and current openings, please visit the VIP Portal

What We Do

The City of Plano's Volunteers in Plano (VIP) program is committed to encouraging community participation and the comprehensive coordination of volunteers to enhance municipal and community needs.

The VIP Program makes every effort to involve as many citizens as possible in the actual workings of City government. VIPs are a diverse group with a wide range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. The VIP Program enriches the quality of life in the community by enhancing City services through the individual efforts of the volunteers.
