To the awesome volunteers: We would be honored for you to volunteer in Make a Difference Day, Another Man's Treasure. Details of the event are below. Volunteers would be needed from 8 am to 9 pm on Friday 10/22 to help prepare the event. You can volunteer any portion of that time, however, we would like a minimum of 4 hours.
10/22, we will need movers to help put furniture on the truck to take to the event, sorters to help sort, hang, steam, and help prepare clothing for the event.
L.I.F.T. R&R will be having an exclusive annual event to provide assistance to eligible households at no charge.
The event will be held on October 23rd, 2021 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm at Victory Church 1008 Erwin Avenue, McKinney Texas 75069 as part of Volunteer McKinney’s Make a Difference Day. This annual event is called “Another Man’s Treasure” and the focus is to help those in poverty by GIVING AWAY donated new and gently used clothing, household items, furniture, gas, and food gift cards, etc. while providing resources with financial literacy to help assist them with future money management choices. We are very excited about this opportunity to serve our disadvantaged population yet again. Last year, our 2020 goal for this event was 25 families, we exceeded the goal by serving 37 families with direct impact. We collaborated with multiple nonprofits including McKinney Family YMCA, Alliance for Elite Youth Leadership, HOPE Clinic, First United Bank of Sherman, McKinney Housing Authority, Victory Church, Aleph 2 Omega, and McKinney Goodwill, along with businesses, and donors, to have not only physical giveaways but practical takeaways such as free resources for children, teens, and families. Any remaining items after the event were donated to McKinney Goodwill to help support their mission of helping the disadvantaged population also.
As we prepare for the 2021 event, we want to extend the opportunity for sponsors, agencies, and other nonprofits to join us in making this an exceptional day for those we will serve. Any in-kind donations (banners, print work, swag bags, raffle prizes, gas or grocery gift cards, and refreshments & drinks for our “Refreshing Station” would be greatly appreciated). We are a 501C3 nonprofit and all donations are tax-deductible.
This event will be exclusive to families in poverty so the needs of those genuinely in need are the recipients.
