Fresh Start for Your Heart

Denise started Fresh Start for Your Heart to raise heart disease awareness and pay it forward for others experiencing/surviving cardiac events by providing delivery of heart-healthy foods and other resources to help them thrive.

On July 2nd, Denise was traveling for work and just wanted to get on her flight back to Dallas.  She never imagined she'd miss her flight because of a medical emergency--her medical emergency.  Unbeknownst to her, she had a massive heart attack.  She was blown away when she learned there was 99% blockage in her main artery.  Denise had survived the widow maker's heart attack.  Soon afterward, Denise knew that her life's purpose was to raise awareness of heart disease.  

Initially, Denise wasn't sure exactly how or if the nonprofit idea would work.  She just knew she had been gifted an abundance of heart-healthy foods and when Denise asked how she could thank them they said, "do it for someone else."  The fact that grocery deliveries are a "thing" has helped tremendously.  Being able to send groceries to someone anywhere in the world has ensured she can keep her promise to pay it forward.  

We are proud to say no one in the heart-healthy nonprofit space solves heart-healthy eating following a cardiac event in the way we do. 

We provide, in most cases, a grocery delivery of heart-healthy foods for the recovering cardiac patient and their family. We do this because there is strong evidence that a nutritionally sound and healthy diet speeds recovery for these individuals and can decrease the risk of cardiovascular disease events and mortality, including such risk factors as high blood pressure and high cholesterol. 

Starting 2023 we're partnering with local food pantries to help the underserved learn how to reduce their risk for heart disease by providing heart healthy food, tips and educational information.
