Who We Are

McKinney Repertory Theatre (MRT) is McKinney's nonprofit community theatre and was incorporated in January 2003 by a group of local amateur actors that had worked together for several years and desired to bring the gift of theatre to McKinney.

MRT is currently a resident theater at the McKinney Performing Arts Center.  Our theatre is supported, in part, by grants from the City of McKinney through the McKinney Arts Commission (MAC) and McKinney Community Development Corp. (MCDC).

What We Do

MRT's main mission is to build community through live theatre.  We do this by producing a four (4) show season and by producing complimentary educational programming that inspires and entertains our community.

MRT performs primarily in McKinney at the historic Collin Country Courthouse, now known as the McKinney Performing Arts Center, located in the old downtown square.

We provide opportunities for community members: professional, amateur, and novices alike, to learn and share their knowledge of theater in a welcoming, collaborative, nurturing and safe environment. Although MRT is a community theater, we strive to create a professional atmosphere, meeting professional standards in a setting that is safe, encouraging and respectful. Participation in our company is open to everyone.
