Who We Are

Nexus was established in 1971 as a structured living and social detoxification program for women. In 1990, Nexus moved to an 11-acre campus in east Dallas to provide a wider array of services. More space enabled Nexus to become an industry leader by allowing children to accompany their mothers into treatment. Nexus is one of the few providers in the state of Texas to remove barriers for mothers seeking treatment services for substance use disorders. Throughout the years, Nexus has expanded its programs and services to better meet the needs of the women and children we serve. Since 2014, our Recovery Support Services program has ensured the long-term success of our clients once they step down from treatment by addressing economic security, stable sober housing, and ensuring a sustainable supportive recovery community.

What We Do

Nexus Family Recovery Center is one of the few treatment centers in Texas that invites women to bring as many as three children, ages 0-12, with them into treatment and offers services to pregnant women, at all stages of pregnancy, before and after childbirth. We serve as a community of hope and recovery for all women and their families who strive to live healthy, resilient lives.
