We are the City of McKinney Planning Department. Our mission is to facilitate the creation of safe, balanced, efficient, visually appealing and economically sustainable developments within McKinney.

We handle development planning, preservation planning, and comprehensive planning within the city limits and within its Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ).These services include annexations, certificates of appropriateness, demographic analysis, economic incentives for historic preservation, façade plans, impact plans, land use planning and regulations, neighborhood planning, plats, site plan approvals, tree preservations and permits, and zoning/specific use permits.
