Who We Are

Sarbat is led by a group of passionate high schoolers and our esteemed board of directors. As a team, we work to organize events, fundraisers, classes, and campaigns. Our local chapter involves students from local McKinney schools as well as other members from the Dallas metroplex community.

What We Do

16% of US adults are digitally illiterate; for immigrants, the number is 36%. This lack of digital skills hinders their career and earning potential. Although local governments do provide some classes on computer basics, it is not targeted towards immigrants, and nor do they teach skills to establish a digital presence to help them maximize their income and business. At sarbat, our mission is to bridge the digital divide for disadvantaged Americans to uplift them and provide job opportunities. The sarbat initiative will provide classes for digitally challenged people by training them on the basics of computer literacy. This includes how to use computers; basic such as Microsoft Office; effectively utilize email; avoid online fraud; build an online presence through the use of applications such as Canva, LinkedIn, Linktree, and website creators; and how to use the internet to maximize their income potential and career. Sarbat continues to provide high-touch follow-up assistance even after the course, to ensure that students are putting the skills they learn in class into practice.
