McKinney Little Free Pantry serves as a vehicle to share the overwhelming abundance in Collin County with those in need in our community. The pantry wants to provide non perishable food, toiletries and basic life necessities with respect, love and dignity for shoppers and donors alike. This assistance is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week with no rules or regulations as to who receives this assistance. It is the intention that when they receive food for their physical hunger, they receive generous portions of kindness and grace to feed their spiritual and emotional hunger as well.

Many donations are left directly in one of our 12 pantries. This job entails visiting each of 4 food pantries and the pet pantry on the west side of McKinney and collecting donations, checking food quality, and stocking needed items. ​

This job will take around 2 hours start to finish and can be completed anytime between the hours of 9am and noon for AM service or 2pm and 7pm for the PM service.

McKinney Little Free Pantry warehouse (Olive Branch) is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 3pm. Crates need to be picked up during these hours, including volunteers servicing the pantries over the weekend.

Help rescue dogs get seen and adopted — from anywhere!

We’re looking for a social media-savvy volunteer to help us post our adoptable dogs on Facebook! This is a great way to support rescue work from home and help amazing dogs find their forever homes.

Every share brings a dog one step closer to a forever home. This role makes a real impact in getting our dogs seen by adopters and the community.

Join Furry Friends Animal Rescue to make a difference in your community!

As our cat supply coordinator, your duties will include picking up dirty bedding, bowls and litter boxes, taking home for washing, then returning the clean items to the store. This is a vital role for our organization.

Are you passionate about helping animals and making a positive impact in our community? Our volunteer program at Collin County Animal Services is the perfect opportunity to lend a paw!

Volunteers play a vital role in enriching the lives of our shelter pets and supporting their journey to forever homes. Whether you’re walking dogs under the shade of our shelter trees, socializing cats and kittens to prepare them for adoption, or assisting potential adopters with counseling, every task makes a difference.

To join our team, volunteers must be at least 16 years old. The process is simple: complete an application, attend an orientation session, sign a waiver, and participate in one-on-one training. From there, you'll be ready to jump into rewarding and meaningful work with our furry friends!

Our Foster Program can fit multiple lifestyles. We have short and long term fosters. We have all the supplies and take care of all medical. You choose what you want in animal cases and earn hours for having these pets in your home.

You can see the opportunities at www.spca.org/foster. You can fill out an application right from our website. You MUST be a volunteer with us and watch our orientation online before taking an animal.

WE DO NOT GIVE HOURS FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE FOR FOSTERING.

We have kittens and puppies that need to become 2 pounds and 8 weeks before they can enter the adoption program. You just love, feed and care for them! We have all the supplies for you and we take care of any medical.

We have Adoption Ambassadors that take on an animal that is waiting for adoption until they are adopted. We have moms with litters. All kinds of different cases for all types of homes. We need volunteers to 

-HELP AT ADOPTION EVENTS, we’re at the Plano PetSmart, 6204 West Park Boulevard, Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5, duties include talking to people, refilling water bowls, walking dogs etc

All you need to do is bring a chair or something to sit on, a LOT of energy, and show up, there's no form you need to submit and no minimum number of hours, just come when you can and leave when you need/want to.  We look forward to having you and we are happy to give service hours if you need/want them!

Tinker Much? Sci-Tech Discovery Center needs volunteers with general carpentry skills and experience to help build new exhibits.   If you have the talents we have a fully equipped shop in our new Maker Space.   A variety of projects needing various skill levels are available; from making simple wall panels to complex cabinetry and displays. Work to take place at Sci-Tech’s makerspace in Frisco on week or weekend days. Email Sci-Tech’s Executive Director, Peter Claffey, for more information and to schedule a time to volunteer. We are looking for licensed pet therapy teams to visit our patients in the Collin County area, for improvement in quality of life. Our patients and their families will appreciate your outreach and compassion. Our hospice patients are often unable to care for an animal despite having had them in the past or being an animal lover.
