Join us as a Check-In Volunteer at our Tax Assistance Site! You’ll be the first point of contact, welcoming clients and helping them get started on their tax prep journey. Your role ensures a smooth, stress-free process by managing check-ins, organizing paperwork, and keeping the flow running like clockwork.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Welcome clients warmly and answer any initial questions they may have.Assist clients in signing in, verifying their appointment details, and ensuring the client has the correct paperwork for their tax returnOrganize and maintain the check-in area to ensure a steady and efficient flow of clients.Communicate effectively with tax preparers and other team members to coordinate client transitions.Respect and uphold the confidentiality of all client information.

What Makes a Successful Volunteer:

Friendly demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication skills.Attention to detail and ability to follow check-in protocols.Basic computer skills or willingness to learn the check-in system.Patience and empathy, especially in high-pressure situations.Complete IRS Code of Ethics Certification 

Age Requirements: 18 and up. 

Commitment to volunteer for a minimum of one shift per week (2-3 hour shifts available, evening times included)

No experience? No problem! We provide all the training you need to become an IRS-certified volunteer and make a lasting impact

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and file basic/advanced federal tax returns for eligible taxpayers Conduct client interviews to gather necessary information and verify tax documents  Ensure all returns are completed in compliance with IRS guidelines and VITA quality standards before being returned to the client Ensure a copy of the return is provided to the client Provide exceptional customer service, answering tax-related questions and guiding clients through the tax preparation process Maintain confidentiality and security of all client information Participate in VITA training sessions and pass the IRS certification exams (training provided)Assist with administrative duties as needed, such as scheduling appointments and organizing tax documents

Qualifications:

No prior tax preparation experience is necessary (training is provided in Mid-December and/or early January) Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds Comfortable working with basic computer software and online tax preparation tools  Must be willing to complete IRS certification exams ( Advanced, and Ethics) prior to the start of the tax season. The Community Health Clinic (CHC) strives to provide compassionate and quality healthcare to uninsured, undeserved individuals and families in Collin County.  

We are looking for volunteers to serve as medical interpreters( English/Spanish) and will provide interpreter services face to face and over the phone for patients, families, staff and providers.

Time Commitment

The clinic is open Monday. Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 8am-2pm

Commitments accepted as little as one day per month based on your availability.

Volunteers are able to pick one day of the above, we ask that volunteers complete a whole shift. 

 

 

The Community Health Clinic (CHC) provides non-urgent, quality healthcare for low-income, uninsured families living in Collin County. 

We are looking for volunteer doctors who possess a strong foundation in the area of their specialty. They will be responsible for treatment and follow up on referrals from in-house as well as outside referrals for patient treatment and make recommendations for further care if necessary outside of the clinic scope. The physician specialist will work closely with patients from diverse backgrounds and collaborate with the clinic team.

The physician specialist is able to volunteer accordingly to their preferred schedule

We are looking for volunteer doctors that possess a strong foundation in primary care. They will be responsible for managing chronic diseases for example diabetes, hypertension and asthma. The provider will work closely with patients from diverse backgrounds and collaborate with the clinic team.

The Community Health Clinic (CHC) provides non-urgent, quality healthcare for low-income, uninsured families living in Collin County. 

The CHC is in need of licensed registered nurses who are willing to volunteer 1 or 2 days a month to provide patient care. Our volunteer RN's provide support for our medical providers and are the first point of care for our patients.
