It’s a great way to meet and help our neighbors, and your help means we’ll be able to quickly get our neighbors on their way! During your shift, you’ll: - Use a provided tablet to scan each shopper's membership card - Record the weight of their groceries when they're done shopping. This helps us keep track of how many people we serve, and how much food we give out - more than 100,000 people and 1.4 million pounds last year! You'll need to feel comfortable using a tablet and talking to our visitors; Spanish is a plus but definitely not required. You may sit or stand while doing Check-Out. And if you enjoy your time with us, we hope you'll consider a regular shift. Thank you for helping us feed our community! **Our opportunities fill up fast! If the spot you want isn’t available, please try one of our other opportunities. Volunteer: Patient Advocate at a Free Healthcare Clinic | Walk alongside our patients, building relational equityOur purpose goes far beyond providing medical care. We are called to walk alongside our patients in their journeys, offering not only support but the gift of meaningful connection. As Patient Advocates, we aim to build deep relational equity, seeing each individual as a valued soul through the compassionate eyes of Christ. Our role is to bring the light of the Gospel into every interaction—through kind words, thoughtful actions, and unwavering love. We seek to be attentive to the Holy Spirit, listening for His guidance on how to best minister to the unique needs of every person we encounter. This isn’t just a task—it’s a profound opportunity to make an eternal impact, to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the lives of those who need it most. Together, we shine His light in places of darkness, offering hope, healing, and dignity to every soul we serve. To apply, go to https://commongoodmedical.org Have questions? Please contact monica@commongoodmedical.org ------------------------------------------------------------------- CommonGood Medical exists to share the love of Jesus Christ by partnering with our community to provide quality, compassionate health care and resources to our medically underserved neighbors. -------------------------------------------------------------------Texas has the highest number of uninsured persons in the United States. In McKinney, over 18,000 residents are uninsured and over 12,000 live in poverty.
