Volunteer: Volunteer DriverThis is our most high demand position! Volunteer drivers contribute in the most direct and personal way. Taking a day from your routine to drive a person in need to a new home or to a city with shelter could be literally a lifesaving way to serve. Our service depends on volunteers willing to give up time to help someone in need. Some positions are backstage roles supporting the organization, while other roles involve being directly involved in someone's escape from abuse. Is It Safe? The most common question we hear from volunteer candidates is asking about the safety from abusers. We do not pick up clients from their home, and we are not on the scene during police activity. We require that our clients be in a safe place for pickup such as a police station, fire station, counselor's office, a shelter, a business with security, or other safe place. During volunteer training we discuss contingency planning and we prepare you for all types of travel. For specific questions ahead of orientation, call us at 833-903-7233 or email volunteer@FamiliestoFreedom.org. Fill out the form below to get started! Someone from our office will then contact you for a brief discussion. Expect area code 972 or 346 for that call. Agency: Families to Freedom This is our most high demand position! Volunteer: Create Mini-Hygiene Kit (or Donate the Items) for the Homeless(Perfect opportunity for student, school clubs, youth groups and others needing community service hours). For more details please contact Scott at (214) 501-6000 or email- scottmormon@gmail.com Keeping clean can be very difficult on the streets. When a man or lady is able to keep clean, this can give them that extra bit of positivity they need to get through the day, and it can help them present themselves well for a job interview. Mini-hygiene kits are a great way to help care for the less fortunate. Here are the ways you can help:A) Assemble full kits To assemble a mini-hygiene kit just put the items in a half-gallon-sized zip-lock (or off-brand) bag. If the items fit in a smaller bag that is fine too. Example Kit: Kit Contents:Toothbrush Feel free to add more items, but avoid liquids unless sealed very well. We are in the streets daily, so we go through bags quickly. Please know any amount helps us care for the less fortunate in our community. To drop off mini-hygiene kits please contact Scott at 972.890.5290 or scottmormon@bfinc.org We also invite you to come with us to the streets and watch us hand out the kits. We also do educational speaking to all ages about homelessness and drug and alcohol awareness. If interested please message or call us. Volunteer: Board Member Elevate North Texas Youth ShelterElevate North Texas Youth Shelter Board of Directors Role Elevate North Texas Youth Shelter is seeking qualified candidates to serve as volunteer board members for our growing nonprofit organization. What we do: Elevate provides temporary shelter and a path to housing stability for youth and young adults (ages 18-24) who find themselves homeless. Where: in Collin County and Dallas County. Our Mission: Elevate North Texas offers a welcoming, affirming environment with immediate, short-term housing and personal case management for youth (18-24) in crisis, partnering with them to create a path to housing stability. Our Vision: A community where all youth in crisis have a safe, affirming place to sleep and the support they need to thrive. Background In our short (5 year) history we have guided hundreds of youth in Dallas and Collin County to housing stability, and away from the risks of living on the streets. Guided by our passionate Founder/Executive Director, our committed and talented board, and our small but impactful staff, Elevate has grown from providing 2 temporary beds in 2021, to 20 beds in 2025. And we will grow to serve more. Our unique model is asset light, staff light, and bureaucracy light, so that most of our donor dollars can go directly to shelter and personal case management. We partner with local hotels to provide up to 60 days of shelter, where our youth can be safe, while our case managers guide them to stable housing outcomes. Chronic homelessness is a growing challenge in North Texas, and around our nation. At Elevate, our first priority is the safety of each youth we serve. However, we also believe that our role in diverting young adults from a life of homelessness, can meaningfully reduce the number of adults who find themselves chronically homeless in the future. The Board Opportunity We are seeking board candidates to help Elevate reach its next level of strategic growth in solving youth homelessness. We have a strong foundation in place, and it is time to take our outreach to the next level. Ideally, (but not exclusively) candidates would have expertise that would help round out and support our current board skillset. Needs include: Financial executives or CPAs Marketing and social media experts Ideally (but not exclusively), candidates would help the board membership align with the diversity of the population that we serve We pride ourselves on being cost effective and impactful. We have only a small staff, so, beyond typical advisory and governance, our board members generally lean in and provide direct support in their areas of expertise. Does Elevate’s vision resonate with you? Do you think you can play an impactful role in helping Elevate reach its full potential? Please contact our Board President, Kathryn Paterson at Kathrynp@elevatentx.org to ask questions and/or provide us with your background. Volunteer: Patient Advocate at a Free Healthcare Clinic | Walk alongside our patients, building relational equityOur purpose goes far beyond providing medical care. We are called to walk alongside our patients in their journeys, offering not only support but the gift of meaningful connection. As Patient Advocates, we aim to build deep relational equity, seeing each individual as a valued soul through the compassionate eyes of Christ. Our role is to bring the light of the Gospel into every interaction—through kind words, thoughtful actions, and unwavering love. We seek to be attentive to the Holy Spirit, listening for His guidance on how to best minister to the unique needs of every person we encounter. This isn’t just a task—it’s a profound opportunity to make an eternal impact, to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the lives of those who need it most. Together, we shine His light in places of darkness, offering hope, healing, and dignity to every soul we serve. To apply, go to https://commongoodmedical.org Have questions? Please contact monica@commongoodmedical.org ------------------------------------------------------------------- CommonGood Medical exists to share the love of Jesus Christ by partnering with our community to provide quality, compassionate health care and resources to our medically underserved neighbors. -------------------------------------------------------------------Texas has the highest number of uninsured persons in the United States. The uninsured are up to four times less likely to have a consistent source of health care as those with insurance. Without a medical home, the uninsured often receive health care in the emergency room, the most expensive and least efficient setting possible for primary care. In McKinney, over 18,000 residents are uninsured and over 12,000 live in poverty. This leaves many without affordable access to health care. -------------------------------------------------------------------CommonGood Medical is a primary care medical clinic for low-income, uninsured residents of Collin County. Volunteer: Hendrick Student Coach/Mentor 2025-2026We are in need of mentors! Become a Hendrick Coach for one of our deserving college scholars!
HSF will welcome 20–25 new college scholars in April 2026, and each student will need a dedicated volunteer coach. While the majority of new coaching opportunities will begin in April, there may also be openings throughout the year if a student needs to be reassigned. We’re actively recruiting now so we can match coaches as soon as opportunities arise—whether next week or next spring. If you're interested in making a meaningful difference, sign up today! The HSF coaching program is the main differentiator between HSF and other scholarship organizations. One-to-one coaching is a significant contributor to a student’s academic success. Students are each assigned a Coach to mentor them throughout the college journey. Coaches help their student monitor progress with their degree plan and stay on track to meet the Hendrick program requirements. They also provide direction with important decisions regarding other aspects of their student’s life and help guide students to learn to manage their time, set priorities, and develop good study habits. A coach is an advocate and a supportive resource, providing encouragement and helping the student stay focused on his or her goals. Expectations of a Coach:A willingness to learn about their student and build a relationship Connect with their student once a month (phone, Zoom, or in person) Attend end of semester Student Reviews (January and June) Inform the Student Success Committee of any needs or questions that arise Fill out a Coach Survey once a semester The Coach commitment is for 4-6 years with the same student. This creates consistency and stability for the student.Agency: Hendrick Scholarship Foundation We are in need of mentors! Become a Hendrick Coach for one of our deserving college scholars!
