Join us in making a real difference in the lives of our homeless neighbors by helping them overcome barriers and rebuild their lives. As a Case Aide, you'll play a crucial role in removing barriers and facilitating access to housing support programs for those in need.

Working closely with our dedicated case managers, your main tasks will involve engaging with clients, gathering essential information, and assisting in their enrollment process into a housing support program. Don't worry if you're new to this - comprehensive training will be provided to ensure you're equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to make a real difference.

To ensure we provide consistent support and maintain efficient service, we ask that case aides come at least 2 days a week and spend at least 3.5 hours per day. We are open to clients 10 am - 4 pm, Monday through Friday , except for national holidays and other specially designated dates which will be posted on our website.

Share your special talent for cutting and styling hair at Ronald McDonald House Dallas! 

Our Families don't always know where to go to get a great haircut nearby or don't have the time to travel to a salon in between visits to the hospital. We have a wonderful 2-seat Salon on our premises, including a nice sink to wash hair in.   You can choose your own schedule, but the greatest number of clients will be evenings or weekends.  

This service is greatly needed.

Work with our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless. Help clients develop personal action plans so that they are equipped to become self-sustaining and securely housed, and by so doing, to restore hope.

Key Responsibilities:

Flexible Options: Can be done virtually by phone or in person at HRM office. For the sake of continuity and to serve clients in timely fashion, we ask that case managers serve at least 3.5 hours per shift and at least 2 days per week.

Training Provided: No prior experience necessary! We offer comprehensive training to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in this role.

At ManeGait Therapeutic Horsemanship, children and adults with disabilities move beyond their boundaries through the healing power of the horse and the dedication of a professional, caring community.

**We are looking for volunteers to help in our therapeutic riding classes. At this time we have a significant need for several Horse Leaders which requires horse experience and our specific Horse Leader training. If you have passion but do not have horse experience, do not worry!  Experience is not necessary for the role of Side Walker who walk next to riders to help them ride the horse. We also have required training for Side Walkers. All ManeGait volunteers must be at least 14 years old.

Volunteers play a vital role in enriching the lives of our shelter pets and supporting their journey to forever homes. Whether you’re walking dogs under the shade of our shelter trees, socializing cats and kittens to prepare them for adoption, or assisting potential adopters with counseling, every task makes a difference.

To join our team, volunteers must be at least 16 years old. The process is simple: complete an application, attend an orientation session, sign a waiver, and participate in one-on-one training. From there, you'll be ready to jump into rewarding and meaningful work with our furry friends!

Gently-used clothes, furniture, and household donations are taken to our INN Style Resale Store, located at 103 E. University Drive in McKinney. These donations directly benefit our clients as they are given vouchers to shop at the store for free. INN Style Resale Store also generates financial resources which help us meet the specific and ongoing needs of our residents.

Maintaining a successful resale store requires an abundance of manpower.....and we need your help! We're looking for volunteers aged 14 and up (under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian) who are willing to donate 3 or more hours of their time to help keep our resale store running smoothly. Volunteers are needed 9 am-5 pm, Tuesday through Saturday throughout the year. Volunteer duties could include any of the following: accepting and sorting donations, hanging clothes, arranging donations on the sales floor, sweeping and dusting, assisting customers as needed, organizing clothes and other donations, or setting up displays/merchandising. 

Please note: this position will require you to be on your feet throughout your shift. If you have limitations or a preference for duties, please let us know and we will assign you to the right area. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

We are a comprehensive homeless program that helps willing people gain dignity and independence.

On any given day, at least 44 volunteers are needed to adequately staff essential positions at the Inn. In one week, that equates to a need for 308 volunteers; in one month, 1,232 volunteers.

We are incredibly thankful for every single volunteer and every single group that uses their time, talent, and passion to serve here.

What we will be doing: Erwin Park has ever-growing and changing needs along its mountain bike trails and skills course area. Helpful volunteers are needed to do heavy duty labor along the bike trails. Each Second Saturday is different pending the parks needs.

What to bring: Tools if you have them, bug spray, sunscreen, and water.
Power tools, should you bring any, should be battery operated for trail maintenance. Protective eyewear and headwear are recommended.
If you bring your own tools, please have them marked as such so we know they are yours.
What do I wear: Long pants, long sleeves, face covering, and closed toed shoes or boots. Sunscreen and bug spray are recommended. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Please do not wear leggings or other thin material which is not protective on your body.

Embrace's mission statement is to "connect willing hands with opportunities to serve children in foster, adoptive and kinship care." This can refer to anyone who is willing to help, but we believe that the Church is called to help be a solution to the massive problem of the foster and adoptive system in our community. Many children are hurting, feel forgotten and unloved and left lingering in foster care with no forever family. Many families are struggling under the burden of caring for someone else's child and feeling like there is no one to help them navigate the weighty, often difficult journey of fostering and adopting.

To combat these very common problems among those we serve, we partner with many churches in our area, collectively called the Embrace Church Network. If your church is interested in coming alongside us to serve the community of foster and adoptive children and their families and caregivers, please let us know. This holiday season, we have started a project, focusing on ages 13-18, for teens just like us through Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County to help support a population who may be experiencing a bit more hardships due to their circumstances. The Agape Resource & Assistance Center in East Plano helps women, moms, and their children facing situational homelessness. With the help of caseworkers and counselors, women and children typically stay with Agape for six months to a year, during which they gain the skills, strength, and stability for self-sufficiency.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) are everyday citizens appointed by our District Court Judges to advocate for the safety and well-being of children who are victims of parental abuse and neglect & living away from home. CASAs stand up for these children - one case at a time - in court and positively impact the child's trajectory within the foster care system. CASA volunteers are ordinary people who are concerned about the happiness and safety of children who are temporarily living in protective custody.

Volunteers do not need a social work background or legal expertise, just a willingness to give your time to make an extraordinary difference in the lives of Collin County’s most vulnerable children. Part of the CASA program’s success has been its diversity of volunteers, full-time workers, stay-at-home parents, retirees and people of all races, religions, and economic backgrounds. Volunteers are partnered with a CASA staffer who serves as their coach and cheerleader throughout the case.  Volunteers are 21 or older and successfully pass our background screening, but all other skills and child welfare knowledge are taught in our extensive training program - taught 3 times/year.

CASA Volunteers give an average of 15 to 20 hours per month to their assigned case, involving a local child (or sibling group) currently living in protective custody. Volunteers get to know the child and learn their history with the use of a powerful, (Guardian ad Litem) court order. Volunteers talk with everyone in that child's life—parents, relatives, foster parents, teachers, medical professionals, mental health service providers, attorneys, and social workers just to name a few.  With the coaching & guidance from their CASA staffer, volunteer Advocates testify in court (about 5x/year) with information they've gathered to inform judges and others of specific child needs and make recommendations that serve the child's best interests.  The CASA Volunteer provides a powerful voice to grateful judges and is often the only consistent and caring adult presence in the life of a a child throughout the difficult journey through the foster care system.

Many of us know local children and families that have been affected by childhood cancer. Doctors and nurses work hard to cure patients’ cancers, but families need more than medical help to get them through this difficult time. This is the point at which the Leia’s Kids Foundation intervenes. The foundation provides direct support to children and their families who are facing the often overwhelming childhood cancer pathway.

Leia’s Kids honors each child and their family through a Crown-A-Kid party. This is a time to celebrate and encourage the child and family in the biggest battle of their lives.

Each child receives a $1,000.00 donation from the Leia’s Kids Foundation.

Offer emotional support and connect families together to form a community. We walk with families because we understand what it’s like to have a child with cancer.

Leia’s Kids focus on the whole family because cancer affects everyone! (Sometimes fighting cancer comes in the form of doing the dishes or babysitting your younger siblings while mom and dad are at the hospital.)

We invite you to be a part of our weekly clothing preparation team! Every Thursday from 3:00 to 5:30 PM, we gather to prepare donated clothing for distribution to those in need. This opportunity involves sorting, labeling, and organizing the clothing donations we receive throughout the week.

You will be sorting through clothing, labeling items, and shelving them in an organized manner. This is a primarily seated task, making it accessible for volunteers abilities. No prior experience is needed; we will provide full training on your first day.

We serve two missions: To provide access to healthy and affordable food options in East McKinney and; To help at risk latino students graduate school and become leaders in their community

In this role, you'll assist in food preparation, including cutting fruits and vegetables, preparing small meals, making drinks and coffee, and taking customer orders. You'll need to have or obtain a food handlers license as you work alongside our team to provide delicious meals and beverages to our community.

Do you have a passion for working with children and a desire to make a positive impact on families in need? The Samaritan Inn is looking for enthusiastic and caring volunteers to provide childcare while parents attend crucial onsite classes. Your role will be to create a fun and safe environment for our resident children through games, activities, and attentive care.

Volunteer Details:

Volunteers are needed most weekday evenings from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

Teen volunteers are allowed, but MUST have a parent to volunteer with them for the duration of their service time.

Volunteer shifts are available once a week or twice a month.

We are in urgent need of bottled water for our homeless population, especially with the extreme heat we’re experiencing. We serve over 40 homeless individuals daily, and your generous contributions can make a significant difference. Donations are accepted Monday-Wednesday from 9 AM to 3:30 PM, Thursdays from 9 AM to 6:30 PM, and Fridays from 9 AM to 12:30 PM. Please help support our community with your kind hearts.

30% of elderly patients who discharge from a hospital readmit within 3 months, most often because they did not or could not meet their follow up needs.  Project Independence volunteers help senior clients who have been recently hospitalized with non-medical support.  Support activities can include driving clients to appointments, running errands for clients, well visits or phone calls, friendly visits, and light housekeeping.  Not all volunteers perform all activities.  Volunteers DO NOT perform any personal care for senior clients, and clients are pre-screened to be able to get in/out of a vehicle on their own.  Volunteers needed in McKinney and surrounding areas.  Program Coordinator will provide volunteer training and client support services.  Volunteers can choose whatever assignments would work for their own schedules - no minimum hours required. 

An RN Volunteer is needed to help with monthly blood pressure health screenings that occur on the 1st Thursday of every month (actual # date will vary).  Located at 401 W. 16th St, Plano, 75075, the screenings take place from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm.  Duties would include assisting patients to fill our paperwork, make copies of IDs, and make BP notations on the client's BP card. This volunteer may also be asked to assist with other health fairs that may happen from time-to-time in the Plano/McKinney/Allen area.

*Please apply only if you are able to help long-term due to the paperwork cost incurred to run a background check.  We generally do not accept volunteers trying to fulfill a community service commitment or a small hourly commitment for a school requirement.

Volunteers are able to pick one day of the above, we ask that volunteers complete a whole shift.

You can purchase and bring the items below to our shelter building located at 1514 N. McDonald Street in McKinney and enter through our main door in the front.  Donations are accepted 7 days a week, between 9am and 6pm.

We have a full curriculum and training for our mentors. It is a one-time monthly face-to-face meeting where you share materials and create a record of the baby's first year.

Brain Injury Network clubhouses are seeking community-minded individuals or groups to provide supplies or to host a supply drives for some our most often needed/requested supplies. Needed items include:

* Toilet Paper * Paper Towels * Postage Stamps  * White copy/printer paper * Clorox or Lysol Wipes  * Kleenex

Volunteers work alongside clubhouse members and staff providing encouragement and guidance to members as they complete tasks during the work-ordered day. Hours to volunteer are available throughout the week, Monday - Friday, 9 am-3 pm. You can set your own schedule as long as it is during Clubhouse hours.

Have a special musical talent?  Treasured Times, a twice a week respite program for people living with Dementia/Alzheimer's, includes music time as one of their activities. Musical entertainment can be dancing, singing, or instrumentals. It can be a solo performer or a group performance. 

Come share your musical talent for 30 minutes on both Wednesdays and Thursdays for 1-2 weeks per year. Each session lasts 30 minutes from 11:45 am-12:15 pm. Would you consider sharing your talent and bringing a smile to the face of participants?

Alzheimer's Association Community Educators are volunteer public speakers who provide Alzheimer's Association education programs to community audiences.

What You'll Do:

Deliver approximately 12 presentations (in person or virtually) annually using prepared Alzheimer’s Association consumer education programs on a variety of care and support topics.

Collaborate with local Association staff to expand programs by securing community partners, scheduling presentations, delivering the programs, and managing needed materials.

Serve as presenter for chapter-scheduled education programs and conferences.

Connect people with additional Association services and volunteer opportunities by proactively making referrals to Alzheimer's Association programs & free 24/7 Helpline.

Habitat for Humanity also needs experienced Crew Chief Volunteers for our new builds. Crew Chiefs are important construction leaders on the job sites. These individuals are skilled in construction know-how and have undergone the training necessary to lead volunteer crews on home construction job sites. These dedicated individuals are on-site for each build day on their assigned home.

Although the volunteer needs that Habitat Collin County has will vary from week to week, there are several opportunities that we frequently need help with. Plus, if you are not able or interested in using a hammer, Habitat may still be the place for you to serve! The Community Health Clinic (CHC) provides non-urgent, quality healthcare for low-income, uninsured families living in Collin County. 

We are looking for volunteer doctors who possess a strong foundation in the area of their specialty. They will be responsible for treatment and follow up on referrals from in-house as well as outside referrals for patient treatment and make recommendations for further care if necessary outside of the clinic scope. The physician specialist will work closely with patients from diverse backgrounds and collaborate with the clinic team.

The physician specialist is able to volunteer accordingly to their preferred schedule

The CHC is in need of licensed registered nurses who are willing to volunteer 1 or 2 days a month to provide patient care. Our volunteer RN's provide support for our medical providers and are the first point of care for our patients.

The Family Health Center is in need of diaper and baby wipes donations for families. Patients are often provided with a care package if they are in need of additional support.
