Special EXHIBIT hosted by DAR, America250! Are you passionate about history and eager to share it with others? The Collin County History Museum needs your help!
The Collin County History Museum is in need of volunteers to help in our galleries during opening hours. We welcome visitors on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm, and we're particularly in need of assistance on Thursdays and Fridays. However, we appreciate help on any of these days!
Our volunteer shifts are 3 hours long from 10am to 1pm. We're looking for enthusiastic individuals.
How to Sign Up: Simply respond to your preferred shift(s). Once registered, we expect volunteers to arrive at our location at 300 E Virginia Street, McKinney, on the selected day and time.
As a museum helper, your responsibilities will include:
- general cleaning
- providing general information about our programs and exhibitions
- ushering guests in and out of our video exhibit
- answering visitor questions
- greeting guests
This position would be a great addition to a student's resume who is interested in working in museums in the future, and the volunteer will likely have time to work on schoolwork or personal projects between helping visitors. Of course, we are also glad to sign for volunteer hours!
