If you answered yes to these questions, we need you! The McKinney Public Library Foundation (a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization) is actively recruiting volunteers who can be called up to assist the Foundation at its events and/or outreach efforts. The funds we raise go back to the library for programming, support, technology, and more, all for the McKinney community. The Foundation’s mission is to help raise funds for Library needs that cannot be met by the City’s Budget. There are many opportunities on the horizon as the Library expands and increases its services. We participate in MPL's annual Literary Fest by supporting new authors. In addition, the Foundation awards scholarships to high school seniors who have volunteered their time at the Library. Some events may be recurring. Others will be individual opportunities to serve.
Duties might be as varied as setting up author luncheons, directional help at large events, break down of events, and some light labor preparing event sites.
