Volunteer: Social Media Specialist

We are searching for and in need of TWO talented Social Media Specialists to represent our nonprofit by upholding and building the social media presence for our brand. The volunteer Social Media Specialist will help drive engagement by creating high-quality original content and manage our community by responding to comments and messages across all platforms.

 

Responsibilities:

Formulating high quality written and visual content for each social media campaign Build a social media presence by maintaining a solid online presence Manage our online communities to ensure respectful and appropriate engagement Respond to comments on each of our accounts Manage social media advertising campaigns Analyze data to determine whether social media campaigns have achieved the objectives Attend regular meetings with the executive director

Approximate Time Required:

2-4 hours a week. You will work from home based on your schedule and directly with the executive director via Zoom meetings and email communication.

Social Media volunteers will have basic knowledge and professional experience with:

Writing, editing and crafting content for social media  Development and execution of social media strategies  Experience with Canva and Wix websites Ability to develop the right voice for each social media platform Ability to measure the success of campaigns Experience with a variety of social media platforms

Volunteer: Volunteer Board Members (4 needed)

Fresh Start for Your Heart seeks adults, to serve as board members, who have a passion for heart health and helping underserved individuals learn to how to reduce their risk for heart disease through heart healthy food and education, tips and resources.  

We are a young nonprofit and are re-structuring our board for greater impact.  Duties include:

Appearing at events and fundraisers Fundraising, marketing, and communication skills and a willingness to promote our nonprofit to others is valuable for these board roles  All staff and volunteers see themselves as Ambassadors for the organization and its philanthropic goods Attend and actively participate in, board meetings which consist of 4 conference calls per year, 4 quarterly meetings, one annual face-to-face meeting once a year, and any standing committee meetings, which occur outside of regular board meetings (these can happen by phone or via Zoom).  Face-to-face meeting may be attended by Zoom as needed Board members are expected to be timely and present at every meeting with a maximum of two absences from board meetings Be the lead on at least one committee Attend and actively participate in the annual meeting held in January (3-4 hours) with a virtual option available Attend 2 major events (Hats & Heels for Healthy Hearts Afternoon Tea, other) Attend a new board member orientation (2-3 hours once the position is acquired) with a virtual option available Commit to an annual gift to Fresh Start for Your Heart that is personally significant and meaningful Continue to educate yourself for the betterment of the organization 2-3 times annually (i.e., board development webinar, book class, etc.) Promote the mission and be passionate about what we do
