Hello Volunteers!

My name is Lynn Mayle and I have the pleasure of being the Volunteer Coordinator at the Heard Craig for the past 4 years. It has been rewarding to help the Center to pull in volunteers for a myriad of tasks that keep this Historic Home in optimal condition.

I am currently working remotely and in need of a capable volunteer to serve at the site as my Proxy/Overseer for certain tasks. The one steady task is the grounds and verandah cleaning that we do every other Saturday.

Your responsibility is, (I will provide a list) to check in the volunteers and explain the task. You will then report to me those who did not attend.

You will make sure that the supplies are available (we supply) and let me know if reordering is necessary.

Take home the supplies used (if able) to wash them for the next cleaning. If unable you will bag them and let me know.

There will be other small tasks that may come up and you will be asked if you are available.

Please consider this worthwhile volunteer opportunity to help maintain this Historic Home.

Current start date is Dec 13th 9-11am. You will be provided an extra 1.5 hours for total of 3.5 in maintaining the supplies if you are able.  

Once you have signed up I will call to provide instruction.

The Heard Craig Center for the Arts will be hosting a Tea/ Luncheon for our Garden Club Tea and Luncheon in our historic home. We have 44 guests and currently no one signed up.

This opportunity is for adults or minors who are not in school during this time.

This opportunity is not for court appointed community service.

DATE: Tuesday December 9th

TIME: 11:30-1:30pm

ATTIRE: Black slacks or skirt white blouse or shirt or all black....closed toed shoes(no halters, mini skirts or jeans.

Hi charitable donors,

We are in need of a dehumidifier for our Victorian Carriage  house. We hold multiple events for the community in this carriage house. During the summer time moisture gathers in the house and portable 2200 sq foot coverage dehumidifier is needed to keep the air drier.

If you can donate it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Volunteer!

The Heard Craig is seeking a volunteer to check in with us the first of each month to see if we have banners to hang. Respondents should consider their height for this opportunity as the banners sit high.

We will then select a mutually agreeable time to help us hang them.

We will provide 15 min of service for checking in each month on schedule, (first Monday of each month) and 30 mins to one hour depending on the amount of banners needed.

Hello Volunteers!

It is that time of year again when acorns are constantly falling. We need your help to keep the perimeter of our historic home neat and clean and preventing a safety hazard for our community when they visit.

This is a custom day to sign up. I will send you a text and then we can  discuss the date times. Remember this opportunity can be done in the morning or completed by sunset if you choose the afternoon.  

Those who not have swept before and under the age of 14 should be accompanied by and adult. Thank you for volunteering!

When you sign up I will send a text for a confirmation, instructions and the time you will be there. An after clean up picture must be forwarded to to me.

Do you have a CDL-B with a passenger endorsement? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

We’re partnering with Chestnut Square to host a special Museum Trolley Tour, and we’re looking for a qualified volunteer to help us bring this community experience to life for one weekend.
