Join us for Shield Down’s Day of Service & 25th Anniversary Remembrance  on 9/11, taking place the morning of Saturday, 9/12, as we unite to honor our fallen through service, from 8AM-10AM.

Together, we’ll tend to Corporal RD Foster Veterans Memorial Park, cleaning the grounds and stonework. In this, we not only pay homage to 9/11 and all those impacted on that day and since, but also support their widows and children, and stand beside veterans who are still fighting their battles at home. Your time and presence can help carry someone “out of the fire”, keeping their legacies alive and well.

Hope Restored Missions is seeking a hands-on, dependable Warehouse Clerk to help keep our donation and distribution warehouse organized and accessible to serve our community. With donations arriving regularly from individuals and community partners, this volunteer helps ensure resources move efficiently from the donation door to the people who need them. The Warehouse Coordinator will oversee the organization and day-to-day flow of donated goods within the warehouse. Responsibilities include maintaining designated storage areas, organizing clothing and other donated items, moving inventory to appropriate locations, restocking client distribution areas, and preparing supplies for outreach events and programs.

Primary Responsibilities:

Organize and maintain warehouse storage areas.

Ideal Volunteer: You enjoy hands-on work, organization, and creating efficient spaces. You are reliable, proactive, and comfortable working both independently and with a team. This role involves regular movement and may include standing, bending, reaching, and lifting or moving boxes and bags of donated items. The Warehouse Coordinator is a critical part of Hope Restored Missions' operations. By keeping our warehouse organized and ready, you help ensure donated resources reach the individuals and families we serve quickly and with dignity.

Hope Restored Missions is seeking a dependable, organized Inventory Clerk to help manage the generous in-kind donations we receive from individuals, businesses, churches, and community partners. This volunteer plays an important role in making sure donated items are properly documented, sorted, organized, and available when our clients need them. The Inventory Lead will receive and process incoming donations, document donated items according to Hope Restored Missions procedures, and help maintain accurate inventory records. This individual will sort clothing, shoes, hygiene products, household goods, and other donated items by category and ensure items are placed in the appropriate storage areas. The Inventory Lead will also help identify items that are running low, overstocked, damaged, or unsuitable for distribution and communicate inventory needs to HRM staff.

Primary Responsibilities:

Ideal Volunteer: You are dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and able to create order in a busy environment. Basic computer or data-entry skills are helpful. This position may require standing, bending, sorting, and lifting boxes or bags of donated items. Your service helps Hope Restored Missions turn every community donation into meaningful support for individuals and families working toward stability and self-sufficiency.

McKinney Lacrosse's The TurLaxin' 2026 is an exciting annual lacrosse tournament that brings together teams from across the region for a competitive and fun-filled weekend of fast-paced action. Held in McKinney, Texas, this event showcases youth and high school lacrosse talent while fostering community spirit and sportsmanship. The TurLaxin' 2026 features well-organized brackets, quality officiating, and family-friendly amenities, making it a highlight of the fall lacrosse season.

With a vibrant atmosphere, food trucks, and team camaraderie, The TurLaxin' 2026 offers players and spectators alike a memorable experience both on and off the field.​

We are looking for volunteers to work two-hour shifts between 7 AM and 7 PM on Saturday and Sunday on the weekend of October 17 & 18.

Drummathon returns to Dallas for our 12th annual event! Drummathon 2026 is happening Sunday, October 25 at The Sound at Cypress Waters in Dallas, TX. The Sound at Cypress Waters is a premier lakefront entertainment and dining destination located in North Dallas, TX. Situated on the shores of the 300-acre North Lake, it features a scenic lakeside stage and amphitheater, a dog park, and great views of the stage from all the surrounding restaurant patios!

Drummers, musicians, and friends come together from all over the world to raise funds through their own online fundraising page to fight against breast cancer. The day of the event will feature live music interspersed with drum solos, as well as solos by some of the top celebrity rock star drummers - with a chance to drum alongside the rock stars!

Attendees to this free family-friendly event can relax on the lawn, visit the array of restaurants, stop by autograph booths, browse our silent auctions, or peruse our Official Merchandise. There will even be opportunities to snap a picture with our celebrity guests on the pink carpet. While at the show, MC's will be throwing out an array of giveaways from our amazing sponsors.

The Samaritan Inn operates a grocery-store-style food pantry that serves hundreds of local families every week. Our volunteers are an important part of helping our neighbors get the food they need.  As a pantry volunteer, you’ll make each neighbor’s visit a great one by:

Washing towels is a commitment to come to our storage, pick up towels and take them home or to the laundromat to wash. Once they are clean, you would then fold them, put them in a white trash bag, and return them to our storage. Each pick up, you would take about 3 trash bags full of towels.

We provide laundry detergent, laundry sanitizer and white trash bags for the clean towels.

You would pick the towels up and drop them off at a storage unit in McKinney.

You can have one volunteer who does it each pick up or a group and just rotate each pick up.

We have opportunities for weekly, every other week or standby towel volunteers.

Streetside Showers parks temporary showers in strategic locations, including McKinney, Irving, and Plano. The organization also makes free showers available three to four times per week in the Dallas Metroplex.

Put several snack items in a quart size Ziploc (or off brand) bag. Please do not use a paper bag. The following page has suggested items for these food packs.

You will be managing Streetside Closet. This is a 17ft U-Haul that has been converted into a walk-in closet. When a guest comes looking for clothes, you will help them find what they need. Between guests, you will be restocking the clothing truck.

You will be providing haircuts to the homeless individuals who come to Streetside Showers stops. You will be working with both men and women of all ages. We do request that anyone who signs up in this role is a licensed barber/hairstylist. Each volunteer barber/hairstylist will need to supply their own equipment and tools for providing haircuts. Make a difference in someone's life by becoming a Sidewalker Volunteer for our 10-week Fall Session of Adaptive Riding and Hippotherapy classes, beginning September 10, 2026.

Volunteer Requirements:
Must be at least 14 years old
Must be able to walk in sand and on uneven ground
Must attend Volunteer Training on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.

Classes are approximately 45 minutes long.

Our greatest need is on Tuesdays 12:00-1:00 p.m.

Women of Purpose United (WOPU) is seeking compassionate, faith-filled volunteers to serve on our Prayer & Care Team. This ministry-centered volunteer opportunity is designed for individuals who have a heart for encouraging others through prayer, compassion, and authentic connection.

The Prayer & Care Team plays a vital role in creating a welcoming, supportive, and emotionally safe environment for women participating in WOPU programs, events, and community initiatives. Volunteers serve as a source of encouragement by praying with and for participants, following up with members in times of need, and helping cultivate a culture of hope, healing, and purpose.

This role is ideal for individuals who demonstrate spiritual maturity, empathy, discretion, and a genuine desire to serve others.

As a member of the Prayer & Care Team, you will help ensure that every woman who encounters Women of Purpose United experiences more than an event—you will help create a community where she feels heard, supported, prayed for, and reminded that she does not have to walk her healing journey alone.

We were robbed!!  We lost 6 throw pillows and  washable covers.1 gallons black paint for cast iron rails and 2 gallons of white concrete paint we use for our parking lot stripes, drop cloths and paint brushes.

You can donate out right any of these and you will recive a donor receipt

Or you can provide for hours of your time to order pickup and deliver. The hours are as provided below

 Pillows and cases 16x16 or 16x 20  4hours provided

for each gallon of white parking lot paint 2 hours

one gallon black paint for iron rails 2 hours

drop clothes or sheets of plastic to lay on ground 1.5 hour

paint brushes 1 hour for every 2 paint brushes( 2 and 3 inch size)

Any teams individuals will be counted separately (ie one team member must supply what is needed) and then i will add up for the team the total hours

C.L.I.M.B. is a FREE, after-school enrichment program offered to children and youth with limited resources at Merritt McGowan, 1200 N. Tennessee Street, McKinney. C.L.I.M.B. is an initiative hosted by St Andrew's, St Gabriel and the Parks churches to provide on-site access to extracurricular activities so that children can... C=Connect, L=Learn, I=Imagine, M=Make, B=Become.

We meet every Tuesday and Thursday on the McKinney school calendar from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Merritt Community Room. We are in need of volunteers who can commit to attending one day per week to serve as small group leaders and assistants.

We are looking for a volunteer willing to host our Meals on Wheels congregate lunches for some independent living low-income income senior citizens in our community room.  Lunch deliveries are Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:00 - 11:30.  Food is provided by Meals on Wheels.  You simply log attendance and grow relationships with the residents while they eat.  You are welcome to be creative.  The goal is a simple, fun time for residents to anticipate.

Volunteer Security Guard Hope Restored Missions is seeking dependable and community minded Volunteer Security Guards to help create a safe and welcoming environment for our clients, staff, and volunteers during outreach events and daily operations while being fully committed to providing trauma informed care. Responsibilities include monitoring the premises, assisting with crowd flow, helping de escalate concerns when needed, and reporting safety issues to leadership. Volunteers should be observant, calm under pressure, and committed to serving vulnerable populations with dignity and respect. Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience is preferred but not required.

Join us in making a real difference in the lives of our homeless neighbors by helping them overcome barriers and rebuild their lives. As a Case Aide, you'll play a crucial role in removing barriers and facilitating access to housing support programs for those in need. Working closely with our dedicated case managers, your main tasks will involve engaging with clients, gathering essential information, and assisting in their enrollment process into a housing support program. Clothing Distribution Assistant Hope Restored Missions is seeking organized and compassionate volunteers to support our clothing distribution services. This role helps sort, organize, stock, and distribute clothing to individuals and families in need during daily operations and outreach events. Volunteers assist clients in selecting appropriate clothing items, maintain inventory organization, and help create a welcoming and respectful experience for every guest. The McKinney Public Library Foundation (a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization) is actively recruiting volunteers who can be called up to assist the Foundation at its events and/or outreach efforts. In addition, the Foundation awards scholarships to high school seniors who have volunteered their time at the Library. Some events may be recurring.  Others will be individual opportunities to serve.

Duties might be as varied as setting up author luncheons, directional help at large events, break down of events, and some light labor preparing event sites.

The Gazebo Café is a convenient dining destination located at the Sam Johnson Recreation Center for Adults 50+. On average, 100+ healthy, affordable meals of choice are served Monday - Friday. The Café is not a revenue generating program, and this service is possible because dedicated volunteers and staff work alongside each other.

We are currently recruiting people to volunteer at least 1 day per week on Monday, Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays from 9 am - 1:30 pm. 

Note: The Cafe does NOT accept one-time volunteers or individuals looking to complete court-ordered community service.

Keeping clean can be very difficult on the streets. When a man or lady is able to keep clean, this can give them that extra bit of positivity they need to get through the day, and it can help them present themselves well for a job interview. Mini-hygiene kits are a great way to help care for the less fortunate. 

A) Assemble full kits
or
B) Donate whatever hygiene-related items you may have or buy. Feel free to give other items than those we have listed. We have found the ones listed are the most needed items.

To assemble a mini-hygiene kit just put the items in a half-gallon-sized zip-lock (or off-brand) bag. If the items fit in a smaller bag that is fine too.

Feel free to add more items, but avoid liquids unless sealed very well.

In addition to prayer, we also try to help the homeless we reach out to with their practical needs. Having a Food Pack to hand out to them is a great help especially on days when local food pantries are not open.

To make a food pack please put several non-perishable snack items in a quart-size zip-lock (or off-brand) bag. Note that the bags should be plastic and not paper.

If you can't make a food pack then feel free to donate non-perishable food items.

Here are some example items that will work. We just ask that any liquids be donated separately and not placed inside the bags.

Tuna in packets
Powdered Beverage Mix Packets
Granola Bar
Nuts
Jerky

Additionally, if any of your food items require utensils it'd be a great help if you include disposable utensils in the bag.

We are out in the streets daily, so we go through bags quickly. We can go through 400 bags a month. Please know any amount helps us care for the less fortunate in our community.

Join Keep McKinney Beautiful in promoting the creation of Monarch Waystations throughout McKinney. By planting native and adapted plants, residents can provide essential food, shelter, and breeding habitat for monarchs and other pollinators while contributing to a healthier, more resilient community. Monarch populations continue to face habitat loss across North America. Small actions, like a native backyard garden or container planting, add up to big change as native plants support pollinators, birds, and local ecosystems. 

McKinney proudly supports monarch conservation at the leadership level as well. The Mayor of McKinney annually participates in the National Wildlife Federation’s Mayoral Monarch Pledge, reinforcing the City’s ongoing commitment to protecting pollinators and expanding habitat.

At ManeGait Therapeutic Horsemanship, children and adults with disabilities move beyond their boundaries through the healing power of the horse and the dedication of a professional, caring community.

**We are looking for volunteers to help in many capacities on property.  We will have a required orientation in August, dates TBD. We currently have the following opportunities:

Horse Leaders in our arena classes which requires horse experience and several phases of specialized training. If you have passion but do not have horse experience, we have other available roles.

Barn Buddies Stall cleaning, mucking, feeding, cleaning and refilling water buckets, and general barn tasks

Property Upkeep Fence painting, Mowing, Weed-eating, etc. Hay barn clean up, Equipment washing, Trash pick up.

Looking for a hair stylist or barber willing to come in a couple times a month and do free basic haircuts for residents.  You would schedule dates with the Service Coordinator, who would then do a sign up sheet for whatever appointment slots you designate.  Contact the Service Coordinator to finalize a plan that works for you.

We are looking for a certified fitness instructor to volunteer to come and do a chair exercise class for low income senior citizens once or twice a month.
