Volunteer: TLT Leading Leaders Intern Mentors | Virtual Volunteer Opportunity

TLT is seeking adults to serve as a mentor for our REMOTE, TLT Leading Leaders Intern sessions, for interns ages 15 and older. 100% remote. Opportunities run 10-12 weeks, three times a year.

If you are available for either the Sept. 28th meetings to attend a team meeting (8am, 9am, 10:30am, 12pm, 1:30pm or 3:30pm) and see them in action to be able to select whom you may wish to mentor, please let us know the date and the time you are available, and we will send the meeting information. 

Background verification required.

The commitment is- 1 Team meeting then (4) 20-30 min 1x1's bi-weekly between 9/28 and 11/14/2025.

TLT is looking for several Volunteers to attend college/university campus events representing TLT and our programs.  We want to establish a pool of volunteers to be able to cover different areas perhaps even on the same day.

Orientation will be provided, manage table events share information about our programs.  Meet and greet students, campus professors and employees.

Locations will consist of: Collin, Denton, Tarrant, Dallas Counties, dates and times vary.  This is September through May of each year.

Purpose:
The Intern Programming Committee is a standing committee with goals of insuring the visibility of the organization to the public in multiple formats.
Volunteers for the Intern Programming Committee is reviewed by the President. The Intern Programming Committee Chair, Committee Members and the Executive Director will work together to determine committee needs and will brainstorm new and potential committee members.

Committee Members Responsibilities:
 Serves in an advisory role to guide the committee
 Expresses ideas and provides input
 Actively participates in meetings, contributing to the discussion, brainstorming and sharing innovative ideas
 Reviews material and provides input for improvement
 Serves as internal/external linkages for TLT to open doors to further the organization’s mission and vision.
 Participate in the development and implementation of the committee work plan

Time Commitment For Committee Members
 Committee members should anticipate being available an average of 3‐4 hours per week.

Committee Expectations:
 The Communications Committee will provide written reports to the full Board of Directors of any actions taken, meetings held or discussions that have occurred.
 Committee will assist with intern project reviews through share drive access.
 Committee will visit or facilitate at least three weekly team meetings. 
 Develop and update intern syllabus and position descriptions.
 With support from staff, submit objectives and a work plan for the committee as part of the planning and budgeting process.
 With support from staff, evaluate its work as a committee and the objectives it has committed itself to and report on same to the Executive Director.
 Any members who have not attended regular meetings or documented activities to promote the committee’s objectives for a period of 2 consecutive months will be removed from the membership list.

The individual in this role will have the opportunity to be mentored by our current Grant Writer.   Job responsibilities include conducting the full range of activities required to research, prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals.    Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Skillful at organization and time management Proficient research skills and knowledge of information sources Capable of understanding TLT's programs and fundraising requirements Expert editing skills and attention to detail Strong written communication skills: ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals Able to meet deadlines Effective documentation, tracking, and follow up This is a volunteer position, training in person, remote availability.
