Description

The McKinney Parks Foundation received a grant of 500 milkweed plants to support Monarch Butterflies.  The grant is from Monarchwatch.org.

“This program focuses on distributing free milkweed plugs for habitat restoration projects throughout the range of the eastern monarch butterfly population, which is east of the Rocky Mountains.”

The milkweeds will be plated in the McKinney Greens public space. Your help is needed!

Volunteers who need to earn service hours may have their service paperwork signed by a board member at the conclusion of the event.

Waiver: To participate, volunteers must sign a waiver. Please print off the waiver in advance to save time at check-in. Click here for the waiver. Minors under 18 must have a legal guardian sign their waiver.

Time: 8-11 AM

Location: McKinney Greens Open Space, Parking on the north side of Stewart Rd, West of Hwy 5. 

What to Bring: Wear long pants and long sleeves. Bring bug spray and your own water or snacks. sunglasses or hat.
