Who We Are

THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson, a PGA TOUR event, was established in 1968 by the Salesmanship Club of Dallas. The tournament was established to benefit the Momentous Institute, owned and operated by the Salesmanship Club of Dallas.

For 106 years, Momentous Institute has worked side by side with children, families, and communities to build and repair social and emotional health through education, mental health services, research, and training so all children can achieve their full potential.

The combined support of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas, THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson, corporations, individuals, and foundations enables these efforts and truly changes the odds for children in our community and beyond.

The tournament has raised more than $195 million over the past 58 years and transformed more than 100,000 lives.

Each year, the tournament needs over a thousand plus community volunteers to make the tournament a success.

What We Do

THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson relies on over a thousand dedicated volunteers to assist with the execution of the golf tournament. These faithful volunteers continue to give up their work hours, vacation time, and weekends to have a memorable week with fun friends and give back to the community!

A positive attitude, flexibility, hospitality, safety, and a desire to give back to the community are a must. Volunteers will select their top three committees and will receive committee placements/shift assignments one month prior to the tournament.

Committees include hospitality venue admissions, driving range, gate ambassadors, marshals, merchandise, player transportation, shot link walking scorers, ball spotters, standard bearers, talent pool, uniforms, and guest services.
